    Gummy Kitchen CIP Cleaning1
    What it is

UMA Clean-In-Place (CIP) system cleans the interior surfaces of candy kettles, pipes, pumps, fillers, molds and cooling tunnels without dismantling the equipment. It is now standard on most modern candy lines to meet GMP / HACCP / FDA hygiene standards

    ItemFunction
    CIP Tanks1 000–10 000 L acid, alkali, hot-water and rinse tanks. Double-jacketed or coil-heated .
Circulation PumpsForward & return pumps create turbulent flow >1.5 m/s for scrubbing action.
Heat ExchangerPlate or tubular type to bring cleaning fluid to 60–85 °C automatically .
Diaphragm Dosing PumpsInject concentrated acid / alkali to reach target pH (PLC-controlled).
PLC + HMIColor touch-screen sets recipes, time, temperature, pH, flow alarms .
SIP OptionSteam sterilization cycle ≥ 121 °C for pharma or probiotic gummies .

Pre-rinse – Cold/hot water to remove loose sugar residues.

    Caustic – 1–2 % NaOH at 75 °C, 5–20 min, removes proteins & fats.

Intermediate rinse – Flush to neutral pH.

Acid – 0.5–1 % HNO₃ or phosphoric acid at 60 °C, removes mineral scale.

Final rinse + disinfect – RO water until conductivity < 10 µS/cm; optional peracetic acid .

    Benefits for Candy Plants
Uptime ↑ – No manual disassembly; cycle < 45 min between batches.
Consistency – Same validated recipe every time, eliminates operator error .
Resource ↓ – Water & chemical recovery loops cut utilities by 20–30 %.
Segurança – Closed-loop cleaning reduces chemical exposure and confined-space risks

    Quick Checklist for Buyers
✔ Confirm tank volume covers 3–5× circuit volume.
✔ Choose plate HX for starch systems; tubular HX for chocolate.
✔ Verify PLC can link to main SCADA (Modbus / Ethernet).

With a properly sized CIP system, candy makers can switch flavors or colors in minutes while remaining fully compliant with hygiene regulations
